About Our Center
The Center for Music and Medicine is a network of initiatives taking place across The Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Medicine. Our work spans research, clinical care and education and encompass a dual mission: making music and rhythm an integral part of neurological illness treatment and improving the health of musicians worldwide.
Our Mission
Developing music- and rhythm-based therapies that improve patients' quality of life and address symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson's disease, stroke, autism and other conditions.
Discovering and treating the underlying causes of health issues affecting musicians.
Developing musical activities for the personal and professional training and development of healthcare providers at Johns Hopkins Medicine.
