Background
John Wilckens, M.D., is a sports medicine specialist who treats patients with a variety of sports injuries and orthopaedic conditions, including baseball injuries, running injuries and shoulder problems.
Dr. Wilckens serves as the medical director of Johns Hopkins Orthopaedics at White Marsh and as a division chief for sports medicine at the Johns Hopkins Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Wilckens holds research interests in sports medicine, adolescent sports injuries, ligament reconstruction, running injuries, injury prevention and arthroscopy.
Dr. Wilckens serves as team physician for the U.S. Naval Academy’s athletic programs. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and serves on the Council of Delegates for American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.
