We are dedicated to improving the lives of children throughout our community and recognize there is a need for nutritious meals all year long.
Many students in our area rely on free and reduced-price school lunches during the school year. When school is out during the summer months these children may not have access to healthy meals.
To fill this gap for our outpatient and community families, we are providing free lunch for kids and teens through the Summer BreakSpot program. This program is federally funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and, in Florida, administered by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
When are meals available?
Families can visit the cafeteria in the Main Hospital (intersection of 6th Avenue South and 5th Street South) to receive a meal for children to eat on-site, Monday – Friday, from June 5 through August 4 during the following time:
- Lunch: 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Who is eligible?
This year, we are able to provide meals at no cost to families for kids and teens age 18 and under.
If you are not near Johns Hopkins All Children’s, or if your family doesn’t travel to the main campus for appointments, you can find other community Summer BreakSpot program locations by:
